Whisper Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Whisper may process when you play the game through the web build or mobile store builds. Whisper is published by JugPanda Studios LLC. Your use of Whisper is also subject to the Terms of Service.
Short version: Whisper can use account, gameplay, device, and network data to run multiplayer sessions and save progression. The current Android/Google Play launch build disables microphone gameplay, voice features, and premium purchase flows.
1. Information we may process
- Account data: if you create or sign into an account, Whisper may process your email address, account identifier, and basic profile data needed for authentication and cloud saves.
- Gameplay data: progression, unlocks, settings, match participation, achievements, challenge completion, and similar in-game state.
- Technical/device data: browser or device type, approximate platform, app version, viewport/input capability information, and error/debug information needed to keep the game working.
- Multiplayer/network data: room membership, session identifiers, and the gameplay/network messages required to run cooperative sessions.
- Support data: information you choose to include in support, review, bug, or account-deletion requests.
2. Microphone and voice features
Supported browser and desktop builds use one microphone permission for two separate features. You control Spiral detection in Settings; multiplayer voice is transmitted only while you are in a multiplayer room with voice enabled.
- Spiral detection: the current client calculates a categorical loudness level locally with the Web Audio API. The game server does not receive raw audio or loudness values for this feature.
- Teammate voice: in multiplayer, the same live microphone stream may be sent directly to current room peers using WebRTC. The game server relays connection-signaling metadata, not the voice stream.
- Recording and retention: the current first-party client and game server do not record raw microphone audio or persist derived loudness levels. WHISPER does not currently run automated voice moderation.
- Capture starts only after an in-game request and browser permission. Disabling capture or leaving the run stops the media tracks. Browser or operating-system permission controls can also revoke access.
- The current Android/Google Play launch build disables microphone-dependent gameplay and voice-related features and does not request microphone permission.
- If future mobile versions enable microphone features, the app will request platform permission first.
3. Purchases
The current Android/Google Play launch build does not expose premium gem purchases or native app-store purchase flows. If paid digital content is enabled in future mobile builds, the billing flow and privacy disclosures will be updated to match the platform's store requirements.
4. How information is used
- Run and maintain multiplayer sessions
- Authenticate players and restore saved progression
- Store cosmetics, achievements, and account-linked game state
- Debug crashes, abuse, and service reliability problems
- Respond to support or account-deletion requests
5. Sharing
Whisper may rely on third-party infrastructure providers for hosting, authentication, networking, and related game operations. Information is only shared to the extent needed to operate the game and associated services.
6. Data retention
Account-linked game data may be retained while your account remains active or as reasonably needed to operate the service, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or comply with legal obligations.
7. Your choices
- You can avoid optional microphone features by leaving them disabled.
- You can stop using an account at any time by signing out.
- Signed-in players can delete an account from Settings → Extras → Account after re-entering the account password and confirming the permanent action. The account-deletion page explains the process and support fallback.
8. Age, ratings, and children
Whisper is a horror game and is not directed to young children. The game may include dark horror themes, fantasy violence, frightening scenes, and mild blood. Regional age ratings can vary by store and country, and parents or guardians should review the applicable store rating before allowing younger players to use the Service.
